Our Cows
All of our cows are Dexters, an Irish breed known for being good foragers and having gentle temperaments. They are also smaller in stature compared to most breeds of beef cattle, making them easier on the land. Our steers enjoy twenty-four months on pasture prior to processing.

Our steers live their entire lives in chemical-free pastures with the herd. They go where they want, when they want. They sometimes graze at a leisurely pace, sit under a tree, play with the bobber in the drinker, or run wildly across the pasture. They are curious by nature and come to investigate if we are working on a fence. We call them "the busybodies."

Our cows are one hundred percent grass fed. Most of the year, the cows can graze, but when the weather is cold and snowy, they get hay from our hay fields.

We give the cows no antibiotics or extra hormones.
